ABOUT AERONAUTICAL SOCIETY OF INDIA (AeSI) |
Aeronautical Society of India was established in 1948 with the support and patronage of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who also became the Society's first Patron-in-Chief. Since then Prime Minister of India has always been its Paton-in-Chief. Presently Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister is the Patron-in-Chief.

The objective of Aeronautical Society Of India is to promote the advancement and diffusion of the Knowledge of the aeronautical science and aircraft engineering and elevation of the Aeronautical profession.

Aeronautical Society Of India provides a platform to professionals in the field of Aeronautics, organizes seminars, workshops and conferences to promote aeronautics and bring about greater awareness in this field.

About the Course |
Aeronautical Society of India conducts the Associated Membership Examination and awards the degree AMAeSI which is recognized by the Govt. of India as equivalent to a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from an Indian University.The students who complete Sections A & B of AMAeSI are eligible to do postgraduate courses in India & abroad, subject to stipulations, if any, in this regard.As there is a great demand for qualified aircraft engineers in India as well as abroad, candidates who successfully complete this course should be able to obtain good jobs in the field of aviation.
Candidates who successfully complete Section A & B of the Associate Membership Examination conducted by the AeSI are treated at par with those holding a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from an Indian University for recruitment to superior posts and services under the Central Government. Those who have successfully completed section A&B examination of the Society are occupying responsible posts in H.A.L, Indian Airlines, Air India, Pawan
Hans, D.R.D.O., N.A.L., Aeronautical Development Establishment, Civil Aviation Department, ONGC, IAF, Army, Navy, Coast Guard and many other reputed organizations and establishments. After completion of AMAeSI Engineering Degree one may appear for M. E. / M. Tech. or Examinations like I. A. S. / I. E. S. / I. A. F. / M. P. S. C
etc. One may also appear for the posts in the State / Central Govt or Public Sector Undertaking where the. necessary qualification of B.E. / B.Tech. is required.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP EXAMINATION |

The Aeronautical Society of India conducts Associate Membership Examination, a pass in section A & B of this examination has been recognized by Ministry of Education, New Delhi (letter reproduced. below) at par with a Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from an Indian University.
Candidates who have passed section. A & B of the society's examination are eligible to appear in GATE for the post graduate studies at IlTS. The candidate can also appear in the All Indian Engineering Services Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission, New Delhi. Some of the Universities and educational institutions have also recognized this examination.
The Engineering Council of Examination, London has also permitted those who have passed this examination to appear direct for part-2 of their examination for higher studies.

Sir,
Kindly refer to this Department's letter of even number dated 16.11.2004 on the subject noted above. On the recommendation of the AICTE, the High Level Committee of this Ministry in its meeting held on 17.09.2004 approved the revised syllabus for implementation. The approval for implementing the revised syllabus is subject to all other conditions of recognition mentioned in our earlier letter, remaining same.
A copy of the approved revised syllabus for Associate Membership Examination (Section A & B), duly authenticated is forwarded herewith. The earlier letter dated 16.11.2004 in this regard, may please be treated as withdrawn.
